Queenstown plus sweet, sweet desserts.. What could be better?! This beloved resort town is bursting with delicious eateries. Here are the best bakeries, gelateria, chocolaterie and restaurants.

1. Patagonia

Patagonia Chocolates is the ultimate dessert spot in Queenstown. Chocolatiers, chefs and ice cream makers are busy crafting delectable sweets near the lakeside. You’ll love browsing their rows and rows of handcrafted chocolates. Churros, crepes, waffles, chocolate fondue and so much more!

2. Balls & Bangles

When you are craving something sweet, Balls & Bangles is sure to hit the spot. Their donuts are ridiculously indulgent, with an ever-changing list of flavours including Ferrero, Oreo and Mars Bar! Balls & Bangles freshly bake bagels each day, and their sweet berry bagel with warm berry compote, lemon curd and cream cheese is definitely an acceptable dessert!

3. Mrs Ferg

If your go-to dessert is gelato then Mrs Ferg has you covered! Mrs Ferg is open until 11.30pm daily, so you can get your dessert fix after a late dinner in Queenstown. Gelatos and sorbets here are as delicious as they look. Go for a very kiwi dessert with their Hokey Pokey gelato, or branch out and try the caramelised sesame seed & milk chocolate. Then again, you can never go wrong with white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake gelato. Sounds like the perfect evening to us.

4. Ferg Baker

The renowned baked goods of Ferg Baker had to be on this list! Beautiful cakes and pastries line their cabinets in this hole-in-the-wall bakery. A must try is their Boston Cream Donut which lives up to the hype. The aromas of freshly baked bread and pies will draw you in. There’s no shame in visiting Ferg Baker every day of your Queenstown visit.

Just to be clear, Mrs Ferg and Ferg Baker are right next door to the al-mighty Ferg Burger, Queenstown.

A seasonal dessert with a glass of Central Otago wine, that could be the perfect way to have dessert in Queenstown. Rata is a fantastic gem in the Queenstown restaurant scene. It’s modern, adventurous and inspired. Their salted caramels are a must-try, and the perfect little end to any evening.

6. Cookie Time

The Queenstown Cookie Time Cookiebar know how to do dessert! A giant ice cream sandwich could be just the thing you need while exploring the streets of Queenstown. They also do shakes, cookie cakes and mini hot cookies. Grab a coffee to go with your cookies and all of sudden, dessert at breakfast time becomes a thing!
